A few weeks ago we booked an impromptu trip during half term, something to look forward to in the midst of working full time and saving for moving house.
We booked the same cottage we stayed in 3 years ago when I was pregnant. In fact they had the same guest book and our original entry was there!
The cottage is just outside Thirsk and isn’t too far from where we live. We just stayed for the weekend but it was the perfect break away. I love the log burning stove, it’s so cosy!
The weather was perfect and the scenery was gorgeous.
On the Saturday we went on the Gruffalo hunt in Dalby forest. Seeing as the coast is only another hour away we then decided to visit Staithes, a seaside town above Whitby which is barely touched by tourists.
We went for seafood and then headed on home.
The Sunday we decided to go to a waterfall in Malham called Janet’s Foss.
We risked life and limb climbing down with a toddler but it was worth it! I’m wearing my Mandy boat tee, cascade duffle coat and Ginger jeans (which I ended up taking in the waist by another inch).
I picked my new car up on Wednesday so it was amazing to drove around the North Yorkshire moors wearing her in.
We then headed to forbidden corner – an attraction in North Yorkshire which is impossible to describe but is my favourite place ever to visit!
Afterwards we headed to Masham for a Sunday lunch and the perfect end to the weekend!
I can’t believe half term is over already but it’s hard to mind going back to work when it enables us to go out and have lots of lovely adventures. Only 7 weeks until Christmas!
